  1. Times match either way (3AM vs 03:00)

    24 Sep 2026

Songs listed as a clock time, like Matchbox 20's "3AM" shown as "03:00", now tick off correctly.

  2. Sequels no longer cross-match (II vs III)

    18 Sep 2026

Metallica's "The Unforgiven III" played but was ticking off votes for "The Unforgiven II". Numbers at the end of a title (II, III, 2, 3…) now have to agree exactly, so sequels stay separate — and "2" still matches "II" when it's the same song.

  3. Cut-off song titles now match

    17 Sep 2026

Votes captured from a screenshot sometimes come through shortened, like "I'd Do Anything For Love (But I Won...". Those now tick off against the full title.

  4. Shortened words like "I'd" now match "I Would"

    17 Sep 2026

Meat Loaf's "I'd Do Anything For Love (But I Won't Do That)" now ticks off even if you wrote it as "I Would Do Anything For Love". The same goes for I'll / I will, you're / you are, don't / do not and similar.

  5. Smarter, self-correcting artist matching

    10 Sep 2026

Instead of fixing name mismatches one at a time, the tracker now handles them as a class: abbreviations, misspellings, backing bands, guest credits and extra words in a band name are all matched automatically. If a song title is unique in the countdown and the artist is a close relative of your spelling, it ticks off. Different artists with the same song title (Peaches by The Stranglers vs Presidents of the USA) still stay separate.

  6. Shortened band names now match

    10 Sep 2026

"Presidents of the USA" now matches "The Presidents Of The United States Of America", so Peaches and Lump tick off properly. Any USA / U.S.A. shorthand in a band name is now treated the same as the full spelling.

  7. Now tracking straight from the official countdown

    10 Sep 2026

The tracker now reads Rova's official Rock 2000 countdown feed directly — the same data behind rova.nz. Artist credits are now correct at the source (Baker Street, Love Rollercoaster, Sunshower and friends), with the Spotify playlist kept as an automatic backup. Songs should tick off faster and more accurately from here on.

  8. Duets match in either order

    10 Sep 2026

Songs credited to two artists (e.g. Phil Collins & Philip Bailey) now match even when the playlist lists them the other way round.

  9. Love Rollercoaster credited correctly

    9 Sep 2026

Spotify listed #1723 as 'The Funky Groove Connection'. It's now corrected to Red Hot Chili Peppers so your pick ticks off.

  10. Censored song titles now match

    8 Sep 2026

Titles written with asterisks (Unf**k The World, Unf*ck The World) now match the uncensored version in the playlist.

  11. Featuring artists ignored

    8 Sep 2026

Picks written like 'Five Finger Death Punch ft. Brian May' now match the main artist on the playlist.

  12. Accents, &, + and numbers

    7 Sep 2026

Mötley Crüe matches Motley Crue, '&' and '+' both count as 'and', and number words match digits.

  13. Medleys and close spellings

    6 Sep 2026

'Funeral For A Friend' matches Elton John's medley listing, and near-identical titles match at 90% similarity.

  14. Manual corrections added

    5 Sep 2026

#1833 Baker Street is now credited to Foo Fighters, and #1952 Sunshower to Chris Cornell.

  15. Share to Instagram & Facebook stories

    4 Sep 2026

The share image opens your phone's share sheet and is sized to sit clear of story text.
